ABSTRACT: This undergraduate thesis aims to create a plaza integrated with the Chapel of Saint Teresa; the presented proposal arose from the need for a space that has symbolic value for its users and also given the lack of a collective living space, thus creating a plaza that integrates the Chapel and a leisure option. The development of the presented project will be guided by the adoption of the integrality of the plaza together with the chapel, with strategies that provide the use of the plaza for outdoor events of the chapel and leisure for its users, as well as a collective living space. It will also incorporate solutions that provide users with adequate thermal comfort, adequate lighting and a leisure space. In this way, encouraging public interaction, making this space accessible to all. The proposed location for the implementation of the project is an unused, empty plot of land next to the Chapel of Saint Teresa in the Praia do Futuro II neighborhood, popularly known as Caça e Pesca, located in the city of Fortaleza – CE. It is worth noting that the site has an ideal number of parking spaces that can be used. The land has constant ventilation due to its proximity to the coastline of the city of Fortaleza, thus providing thermal comfort to its users. The landscape and social contexts are quite distinct, since its location is situated on one of the most visited beaches in the State, and on the other hand, the "Praia do Futuro" neighborhood presents some urban planning problems such as the occupation of public land and a lack of squares and leisure spaces. Thus, the square's project has as its premise to transform this empty land into a public space interconnected to the Chapel of Santa Teresinha, providing another space for leisure, conviviality, a meeting point, and faith. Therefore, the fundamental principle of the square is to be accessible to all people without any social or economic distinction, providing a facility for social use and interaction.
