Abstract

Abstract

Global Postural Reeducation (RPG), an established physiotherapy technique, works on biomechanical rebalancing and postural alignment through the simultaneous and progressive stretching of muscle chains. This approach aims not only to correct postural deviations but also to treat the origin of musculoskeletal dysfunctions, promoting the health and well-being of the individual. Home practice, facilitated by self-postures, represents a crucial component for the sustainability of therapeutic results. Self-postures are simplified adaptations of classic RPG postures, allowing the patient to perform exercises autonomously and safely, complementing clinical intervention. This work aimed to create an educational booklet, a lightweight and accessible technology, to guide the execution of self-postures. The booklet, entitled "Guidelines for Self-Postures of Global Postural Reeducation," describes and details four fundamental positions of the method: "Frog" on the floor with arms open, standing against the wall, sitting with legs extended, and "cat" position. For each posture, the objectives, therapeutic benefits, and necessary precautions for its safe and effective execution are explained. The methodological approach for developing the material followed a simple sequence. Initially, a comprehensive bibliographic survey was conducted, consulting articles and scientific publications dated between 2015 and 2025. The research used the descriptors: Global Postural Reeducation, Self-postures, Physiotherapy, and Posture. Based on this theoretical foundation, the booklet was developed on an online platform, reviewed, and formatted for printing, ensuring clarity and accuracy of information. The scientific literature corroborates the importance of the regular practice of these postures, highlighting their beneficial effects on improving postural alignment, increasing flexibility, reducing musculoskeletal symptoms, and developing body awareness. The adoption of these practices also contributes to the prevention of injuries. Therefore, RPG self-postures are a valuable tool for health education and the promotion of self-care, provided they are always guided and supervised by a physiotherapy professional.
