INFLUÊNCIAS CULTURAIS NA PERCEPÇÃO DO CRIME:
UMA REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA DE LITERATURA

Esta revisão sistemática descreveu as evidências disponíveis sobre as influências culturais na percepção do crime, incluindo atitudes relacionadas à punição e práticas do sistema de justiça. A busca dos estudos foi realizada nas bases de dados Scielo, Scopus e Web of Science, sem restrição temporal. Após a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, 18 artigos foram selecionados para análise. Os resultados indicaram um interesse crescente pelo tema nos últimos onze anos e demonstraram que normas culturais moldam a interpretação dos crimes, a aplicação de punições e o tratamento de diferentes grupos dentro dos sistemas de justiça. Contudo, a maioria dos estudos analisados concentra-se em contextos ocidentais, sobretudo nos Estados Unidos, limitando a compreensão global do fenômeno e suas implicações mais amplas. Além disso, observou-se que a vergonha não é restrita ao contexto asiático e pode ter efeitos ambíguos no controle social. Esses achados ressaltam a necessidade de pesquisas em diferentes contextos socioculturais, para expandir o conhecimento sobre o tema e contribuir para o desenvolvimento de sistemas de justiça mais equitativos. A relação entre vergonha e controle social indica a importância de políticas públicas que promovam a inclusão social e não apenas desestimulem a criminalidade.
